As I stated in the previous post that this pass weekend was Comicpalooza and we got to attended. During the event I got to meet and talk to some amazing vendors who were artist that either did some drawing or made homemade things(find out more information in the posted about Comicpalooza Vendor One on One).
Now in this posted I would like to share with you some of the my(well our) favorites costumes we saw, yes costumes people do come dress up to Comicpalooza. And you know what these are not simple ones, these are homemade with detail work, and some people spend long hours on them. We are into comics, superheros, turtles, etc and seeing what Comicpalooza have to offer is great, but to tell you the truth seeing the people who spent hours and hours on their costumes is what make my Comicpalooza experience an enjoyable one. As well as being able to captured a dance party next to the food court against different characters was priceless. Here is the dance party along with a few of our favorites costumes we were able to captured, and the little boss(my son) who was ready to go and look at the next thing!
Beside artists, meet and greet for a little cost, there were also booths for businesses to advertise what there business or event was all about. There was also a food court with a sitting area in the middle of the convention center which I love, instead of it being in the back like last year. They had a kid center for a small fee for tickets to do the activities. Upstairs they offer classes, had a Q & A panel, LEGO center for kids, gaming center before upstairs and downstairs. Than you had Roller Derby if you are a fan this a must see, as well as there booth had Arm Wrestle a Derby Girl...hehehe I went for the girls. Another thing that captured are attention was the booths that were there for charity such as we took a picture of some of the star wars cast and at their booth they had a donation box for the Ronald McDonald House. I personally thought that was such a good idea and for a good cause. Just in case Ronald McDonald House helps families who are far from home have a long or short hospital stay, and need place to stay, well this house gives them a place to sleep, food, and able to wash clothes. Than the NASA booth which was nice to see and talk to the workers at the booth about what they had with them, and we were also able to take pictures in an astronaut suit...cool, I know. The Renaissance Festival was there and you even had a chance to win some fun prizes such as a ticket for the festival, well my son and I spin the wheel and won a coloring book. There was also Half price bookstore and if you love books like me they gave out coupons and a reading log for your child or for you to read to your child, once done you could turn it in to any stores at the end of July for a 5 dollar off coupon...I tell you I love reading and love reading to my child so I love these coupons. Fourth they had drinks stations around the event including the food court as well as Ben and Jerry's was there for your sweet tooth, and St. Arnold for us adults for a nice cold one. Finally my husband favorite and thanks to him for all these pictures he got to relaxed at the Mattress Firm booth on one of their demo massage chairs they had there, and you know what he didn't even want to get up until they told him the price, than he got up really fast...lol!! Here are some of the booths we got to visit:
With a wonderful weekend and another Comicpalooza coming to an end I must say it was one to remember especially it being father's day weekend. This was only my family and I second year and it seen just from last year to this year that it grew, and I only hope it does as each passing year it comes to town. Also if you have not made it to one just yet take it from me, and do it next year as you are missing out even if you are not interest in that kind of stuff, just doing something different is always nice. We enjoyed like we did last year and I'm actually hoping that if we are able to attend next year we will all dress up...hey I have a whole year to plan and make our costumes!
I hope after this posted and my Comicpalooza Vendor One and One will get you pump up, and ready for next year.
In the mean time, I shall leave you with this one last picture
Until Next Year
Lauren
P.S. I want to give a big thank you to Lisa Carey of New Creative Media for all the work she did to make this happen for myself and the other bloggers. Thank you Mrs. Lisa!!
