Goodbye 2014, hello 2015

As the year is coming to end, and the new year is beginning....I'm  looking forward to all the other first with our son, and making even more memories with him and as a family!

So now we say goodbye to 2014 and what a wonderful year it was as we became first time parents and welcome our first child/our son...now we will welcome 2015 as a family of three, and can't wait to see all the wonderful things in store for my family in 2015!

Happy 3 months baby boy

Happy 3 months old to our handsome little guy! You are truly a blessing and it has and is amazing just watching you grow. You love and know your daddy and mommy voice! You get scared when you hear your daddy sneeze, and of course you don't nap much during the day because you want to catch everything. You also smile a lot more, and make sounds when you get excited. Last of all, but not least you love your hands, and love watching Mickey Mouse!

As the day is coming to an end, my husband/daddy just came home from work and our son decided to roll over for the first time...what a blessing to mark two milestones in one day, proud parents we are! My husband said being at work since 5 this morning and working the weekend made this moment all worth it.

Late posted about Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving came and gone but would to share with you what my family and I did..here it goes

My husband and had a four day weekend, and of course my son and I loved having him home with us.

Now since my husband and I started dating we always had thanksgiving lunch with my mom and dinner with my in laws, well this year we did the same along with our son who was celebrating his first thanksgiving as well. We started our day by taking my son pictures, than we went off to my mom's place for some good food, football, and sales ad to see what was on sale but didn't do shopping till Friday morning. After second started of our favorite team playing (dallas cowboys) which they lost we head out to my in laws for some more good food, dessert, and more football. Once we felt stuff at both places we came home, you know we usually go shopping but since we have a son now we called it a night and came on home to relaxed and get a goodnight sleep!

Thanksgiving came and gone memories were made, and it was extra special as it was my son first thanksgiving!

I just wanted to share that I'm always thankful each passing day I see and get, but this year is extra special and extra thankful as we are parents and my husband and I are now making memories with our son. Also and always thankful for my husband as well, and life because life is good!!

I'm not only thankful but I'm blessed as well!!

What did you do for thanksgiving? What are you thankful for?

Life is just to short

This morning as I was watching the news with my husband we saw a story that a lady fell off the freeway ramp to her death, well come to find out about two hours later it was my 29 year old cousin. When I found that out I was and still is in complete shock, and have always known life is to short and you know it's truly is short!

With that being said enjoy life, live life to the fullest, and cherish every minute of it. Tell your loved ones I love you, and if you are mad at somebody never stay mad for a long period of time, always talk about it. Always thank god for giving you another day and always thank him for everything, for the blessings, and just be thankful in general even if things are not going the right way for you!!

Remember live that day to the fullest and the next and so on!!

Since I have been with my husband we always make sure we tell each other I love you, and we always make sure we do not go to bed mad at each other. You know my husband and I are always hanging out with each other, and we hardly ever go do guy/girls night out because we enjoy each other company and have fun with each other. I can honestly say life if different after what happen during our labor and delivery with almost losing our son and I due to my blood pressure being sky high. Once we became parents we have always live life to fullest, and we are still living life to to fullest even more now and enjoying every minute of it with our son, and focusing on doing things with our son and having fun!! I also thank god each passing day, for everything and everyone in my life, and to help those in need, and so on!!

Now please make sure to always smile, live your life to the fullest and enjoy of every minute of it, even if it's not going your way just be thankful!!

Baby boy first set of shots

Today my son got his first set of shots, he got one by mouth and two on one leg and one on the other leg. The mouth one was ok from the look we got from his face, the two shots he got on the first leg he was still smiling but moved a little, but the one on the other leg got him and he cried!

I must admit it I cried with him as well but I think I cried longer than he did because once he saw his daddy he smile at him.

Did you cried when your child got their first set of shot? Is that normal? Does it get easier, as I'm a first time mommy?

Please share!

Team mate down and trying to stay to calm

I can't keep calm, it's a mommy & wife thing was tested this week and guess what I almost lost my mind.

With that being said I was taking care of my son and my sick husband who thankfully is starting to feel a bit better. See I'm so use to doing everything and anything that I still want to do everything and anything. You know I'm your old tradition Hispanic wife who was raised to served and care for my husband, my child, than myself, which I do that still even after having a baby but now if baby is crying his needs comes first which my husband and I both take care of him and make him happy, my husband, than me!

So like I said this week my husband was feeling under the weather, and not having that extra hands to help me with our son was overwhelming. I maintain myself and turn on super mom/wife mode and took care of both my boys, myself, clean, cook and feed all of us, oh yeah and blog a bit...yay me/go me! I not once complain as I know this was my job/duties to do, but my husband apologize to me for not helping which I really appreciated that he did that. Also on top of that my son notice something was wrong, because daddy didn't spend time with him and the faces he made to his daddy was to funny...if only he knew and understand that daddy was sick and one day he will understand. It's crazy how life can change and roles can change because just two months ago my husband was doing all the cleaning, caring for our son and I because I had a c - section, and cooking, and anything and everything else on top of that which before we had a baby he would help no matter what.

See the reason why I was tested because when your team mate is down you pulled double the work. Yes my husband work but he comes home helps out with whatever and than the weekends he's extra help because he's here.

After everything we work well as a team and we made a great team before the baby came, and make even a better team now that our family is complete for now. Teamwork is important and this week was my job to get my team mate better and back at it again.

Do you have a team mate? Do you do team work? Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Please share!!

Jamberry Wraps Review

Hello!

Have you heard of Jamberry wraps?

They are wraps that come in designs or solids and apply to all or one of your nails.

I was in the same boat as you and I have never of them either, until I was invited to a friend's online party and got more information. Well once I got more information I was interest and bought some wraps to give it a try, sure enough I was not disappointed with it at all. What I like about them is they come in solids, designs, and have some for little girls, they are also easy to apply and plus side is there is no dry time. I love getting my nails done or love doing my nails, and since having a baby I have notice I'm doing my own nails a lot more and jamberry wraps just adds that extra touch and makes it look like I got my nails done.

If you are interest in more information, here is the jamberry wrap website..

Happy 2 months baby boy

You know it's life changing having a baby and starting your new life with a baby, but after nine years of just my husband and I life could not be better with my husband, our son, and I. My family is complete, my heart is complete, life is good, and god is good!! Here is to how my little one is changing so much within the first two months of his life:

Two months ago we didn't have baby toys everywhere, we didn't have to wake up or be on your schedule, we didn't have to wash your clothes or find your little socks. Two months today we are enjoying all that, and we will continue to enjoy it and much more!

Two months old and you are now making coo sounds, smiling a lot more, hate when we take the bottle out of your mouth to burp you, sleeping longer at night, making many faces, and of course you know your daddy and mommy's voice and oh yeah you love sucking on that hand of yours!

Happy to 2 months old baby boy....may god bless you with many more, and bless us to continue to watch you grow!!  We love you and will always love you baby boy!!!

6 years ago we became Mr. and Mrs.

6 years old today I married my husband, and I became the happiest yet luckiest woman alive to become his Mrs!! Our journey though out these years have been great, rough, crazy, fun, good, bad, etc but most all memorable! These last six years have been great, and have been a journey like no other and our love is like no other, and our bond along with our love is just getting stronger. Thank you for being there for me, for letting me drive you crazy, for taking care of me, for standing by my side, for your shoulder to lean on and cry on, having your arms wide open, and for loving me for me! You know I thank god everyday for you, for allowing us to see another day together, letting our love grow stronger each passing day, and for letting us create memories together, and now making them with our son.

What are family traditions?

Family traditions can be fun, or something so simple, but so meaningful because of the memories that are being made behind it. Every family is different with their traditions, some even continue with their traditions with their own family. It also doesn't matter when to do it, as some do it annually, weekdays, weekends, holidays, birthdays, etc., just for fun, and it can start whenever you like.

With that being said do you have a family tradition? If so what it is?

Let me be the first to tell you when I was growing up(only child here ), I didn't have any family traditions. Since I didn't have any I told myself when I get older and get married, have my family of my own I will start my very own traditions. Well now that I'm married my husband and I had our own traditions for our anniversary, birthday, and valentine's day, but when we have a child it will be a lot more as we saw our friends and their families do things especially around the holidays. After seeing them do things with their child(ren), I told my husband when we have a child I want to do more traditions with our child as a family and of course some with friends family friends at that.....

Well guess what I'm happy to say we have a child a little boy at that, and since holidays are near with halloween being first....why not start it off with our first family tradition especially it being our son's first Halloween, and it will also be his first of everything at that and what a perfect time to start with halloween.

So our first family tradition happen last Sunday! I kept telling my husband I wanted to carve pumpkins, we can do one of each or just one for our son no matter what I wanted to do it. When the time came I was so excited when we got the pumpkin, and we decided to get just one pumpkin this time around, along with the carving kit. After we got it we came home watch football, had visitors, and that evening we carved our son's very first pumpkin. Oh yeah I forgot to mention my husband and I never carved a pumpkin so it was a first for us, and I knew well we knew this was going to be a memorable, fun, and some good laughs and a great way to kick off our family traditions...lol. Before we decide to get into the pumpkin, like I said we never did it before my husband you tube yes you tube..lol. Once he knew what to do we decided for him to carved the pumpkin, while I hold our son and take pictures, and help when needed. He carved away and was so excited, and so into it, as well as I was too and our son was even looking at his daddy.

Pumpkin was done and daddy did an awesome job! It was such a proud moment for him and of course for me, because I got our very first family tradition started for my family and can't wait to do many more!!!

Here is a picture collage of my husband carving our son's first pumpkin and our first family tradition! You know after my husband was done he said next year we will do one for the each of us. As well as he was glad that I wanted to do this, as he first said our son was to small....but special as it's our son's first of eveything, and we won't get this back! At the end my husband was very happy and now he can't wait and we are both looking forward to our very own family traditions!

6 weeks ago today

Six weeks ago today I had a baby, six weeks ago today I had a c section, and from the moment I knew I was pregnant and even after the baby my mind was all over the place, and my body was changing and now at six weeks today I feel somewhat back to myself.

Im 28 years old and six weeks ago today I had my first major surgery an emergency c-section to delivery our first child which was a boy. This was my first pregnancy and I must say it was a good pregnancy beside the first four months of morning sickness which was a pain in the butt, and at one point I would cry in a corner and tell my husband that i couldn't do it. Once I got over that part it was fine and everything was smooth, and I had the perfect obgyn who we love. As I was carrying our son and as it got closer to my due date my biggest fear was a c section, and how my husband was helping me have a healthy pregnancy which I did, and was by my side every step of the way, and every doctor appointment. Having a healthy pregnancy, people telling me I was not going to have a c section, I stop thinking about it and I kept praying about it and left it in God hands. Well due date came and gone, we walked into hospital Thursday, September 4 at 9pm to be induced. Before our due date/schedule date to be induced came I finally mention as much as I didn't want to was a c section to my husband, and we sat down and accepted the fact that a csection may happen but to make sure not to shut it out completely and we didn't. We talk about it, we left it in God hands, than the time came we went to the hospital to be induced, and the process started slowly but surely and soon we will welcome our son and soon we were going to be first time parents. Oh my the process was going great I was so excited because I knew I was going to give birth natural well with drugs of course...lol, and it happen doctor broke my water Friday morning September 5th, than about 1:00pm baby heart rate disappear and my blood pressure was high....my worst fear came true and as much as I didn't want to hear it doctor said emergency csection was going to happen and he was here at 2:09pm September 5th.

Csection every mothers fear! All kinds of questions, worries and other things just going crazy in my head! I had our son Friday went home Monday, my husband was off Friday and that week he took more time off from work and short story is he was taking care and helping me with my everything I needed and I'm not use to that, it's usually the other way around but I took the help and let him take care of me even more than normal. You know I would talk to him and tell him I felt at that time a useless wife, because I was the one who cook, clean, and care for him and the tables had turn which I felt bad why hormones, and of course he would tell me that's his job as well. Let me tell you that was hard but I accepted and knew this was not forever.

You know csection was not that bad after a few weeks and now six weeks later I look back at it I had pain and the hardest part was getting out bed at the hospital for the first time, and getting around but I was slowly and my own pace. I also had my moments when I cried and even more when I saw the scar for the first time....and different things were going crazy in my head: my husband will not love me anymore, think I'm not sexy anymore, my body is ugly, and I'm fat but little did I know I was crazy(lol) and I knew I was married to an awesome guy and even more awesome after we had our moment looking at the scar and what he told me....priceless and I will never forget that moment. Than I had a moment with my body and the scar and came to a conclusion that this is my battle scar, my husband appreciate this battle scar because this is how our miracle got here and the way my body looks. This is my body if he loves the way it looks before I had the baby, before I started losing weight, and now after I had our son than I should love it as well and I will....as well as the battle scar if he loves it and is truly thankful for this scar, and will forever remind him why I got this scar, than I will too and we will both thank god also!!!

Well I have few question for you....Did you have a csection? What was your biggest fear/ what were you worry about? Have you accept it? Have you accept the scar and your body after baby?

Please share!

Thanks,
Lauren

Topic Thursday: Halloween Costume Idea

Do you have a little girl or girls who want to wear a boy costume for Halloween?? Guess what not a problem just add your special touch and they can rock any boy costume.

I make and sell tutus and I have a friend who daughter wants to be spiderman. Well I got the colors I needed since its simple right blue and red, instead of getting spiderman ribbon I made a bow out of red, than I center a spider...and  there you have it I made my own spiderman ribbon.

Check out the pictures below of the tutu!! It shows that any little girl can show everyone that a girl can turn any super hero or boy costume into a girly costume, just by adding glitter and rhinestones and their own touch!

Our son is here!!

Three weeks ago today my husband and I became proud parents to a boy, who was born on September 5th, 2014 at 2:09pm via emergency c - section due to mommy and baby having complications! He came in at 7 pounds and 19 inches long, and we named him Jonathan Alexander(daddy's middle name). We went on the 4th of September to be induced and everything was going well by 2 in the morning I was 4cm and doctor came in at 8 to break my water bag. I was making great process and everything was going good, than about Noon baby's heart beat disappear from the monitor and when I finally turn to my side and than the other side the nurse found his heart beat but low. I remember everything like it was yesterday with nurses were coming in, as well as my doctor and the nurses coming in telling me the OR was was ready for us. Before we went in I wanted my grandma to say a prayer with us and for us so my husband, my doctor, a OR nurse, grandma, mom, mother in law, and cousin, aunt, and few more people made a circle around my bed...and my grandma said the most beautiful prayer ever tears were already coming out but more after she said that prayer. Once we were done after even trying an hour to see if we had changes it was time for me to go to the OR and have the baby, I was wheeled in telling my family I will see them later still crying but starting to calm down..and as i was getting wheeled in my husband stay behind until they got me ready and i kept reminding them not to forget my husband. Well after everything and preparing me and doctors and nurses getting ready, it was finally time my husband came in sit right by me.

Than we waited finally at 2:09pm our son was born healthy, alert, hands open..my husband left to be by his side, and to check to make sure everything was good with him. Once he got check out my husband came back to my side, and than I saw our son and that moment was priceless and so precious to me...and I realize that I had not only my husband by my side but our son was there too. After the baby came out I had a cyst growing inside on me which we found out when i was pregnant, but must had been good that i had a c - section because it went from a size of a golf ball to a baseball with extras on the side...and my doctor was able to remove them and only them with no problem.

After all that has happen to welcome our son into this world and to me, my husband was amazing before and he is even more amazing now. He is such a true blessing to me and I'm blessed to be his wife, and have him as my husband. It's also a blessing to know that I will always have him by my side, and I will always be by his side!

Here we are three weeks later getting used to this lifestyle changes but enjoying every minute as we have a new role Mommy and Daddy! Our family is complete and we couldn't be happier! My husband and I love has even got stronger, and I have falling more in love with him each passing day. Than we have our marriage it was stronger before we had our son, but gotten even more stronger after we had our son!

Than as far as for me I'm healing and recovering great, i have my moments where i cry but being in my husband arms makes it all better. I'm taking it day by day and i know each passing day I'm getting better and will be myself in no time. As well as i thank my husband for pushing me, and encouraging me to do things and move around slowly because I'm where  I'm at today and quickly healing taking it easy because of him...and i truly thank him everyday for that!!!

Well that's my story...what's your story??

Now I'm ending my story by saying God is Good!!

Keep an looked out for another story soon...until next time!!

Hello September

Goodbye August, Hello September!!

I thought we were going to welcome a baby in August since my estimated due date for him to come was August 30th, but that has come and gone and I am still pregnant! I know as well as my husband knows that the due date was just an estimated date, and he could have came early or will come a few days later since I am a first time mommy to be and doctor said that usually does happen.

So now we welcome September with open arms! I of course looked forward to the beautiful fall weather, hoodies, cozy blankets and cozy clothes, scarves, boots, hot chocolate, football, the holidays and many other favorite things...but what my husband and I are looking forward to this fall the most is welcoming our son, and hopefully it will be soon and he will come on his own(fingers cross)!

Stay tuned!

Thursday Topic: Labor and Delivery

Hello all!

Any day now I will be delivering my first child and I'm nervous, excited, scared and of course I can't wait!

To those ladies that have delivery, where you scared? What was your biggest fear? My biggest fear is having a c - section, but I along with everyone else believe that I will have the baby natural. For this begin my first pregnancy I can honestly say it's been smooth and great, and I'm only hoping and praying for the same thing for the delivery part. I believe and have faith that it will happen that way, and I don't want to start freaking out, worry, or think about it.....I just want to think positive thoughts and send them to the baby!

Another question is Did you have to be induce? As I sit here and hear that word, I automatically think that it's a c - section or it will go that way. I know it doesn't necessarily mean a c - section, it just mean it will help speed up the labor process and of course it could end up natural or a c - section(fingers cross for the first one)!

So after these question that I'm asking, and yes I have talk to my husband and others about the way I'm feeling!

Well the reason why I asked is that tomorrow is Friday and another doctor appointment to check if there is signs of labor, since last Friday I was a half of cm which I'm hoping I'm more tomorrow. Also my due date is this Saturday August 30 and if my son doesn't come out between now and Thursday. If Thursday comes around and no baby still, that night I will check in at the hosptial getting induce and we will welcome him sometime that night or Friday. I'm also hoping that he comes out on his own and I'm not in labor for to long, I know first time parent but hey I'm having hope in my body that it will be natural and not long at all!

Well stay tuned and find out when I will welcome my son and how I welcome him!!

Thursday Topic

On Thursdays my goal is to pick a topic about personal experience, something from the news, or something fun!
Enjoy!
On that note first Thursday Topic:
Love is in the Air
Met this guy towards the end of 2004 we were friends getting to know each other, from there we became boyfriend and girlfriend on January 14, 2005! He moved in a few months later, as people thought we were moving to fast. When November of 2007 came around he popped the question and of course I said Yes! Than planning stage had started, and we were planning a wedding and got married November 1st, 2008. Yes I got married at 22 to my second boyfriend, and till this day after being married for five years going on six years this November....I can honestly say it has been by far the best decision I made to say Yes to him and  becoming his wife, and I'm glad I got this amazing guy in my life as my husband and my best friend!
It's a blessing each and everyday I get with him, and it's amazing how each passing day my love for him just get stronger. You know after so many years I'm happy to say he still gives me butterflies till this day!!

This month hopefully my husband and I will be welcoming our first child a boy at that to our family, and we couldn't be happier! My doctor appointments are now every Fridays and hopefully tomorrow we get some news that the labor process has started, but we shall see tomorrow. In the meantime I'm starting to think I can't do it and my biggest fear is having a c - section, but I know with my husband, and my great support system behind me and with God by my side I know I can and will do it and I will have a normal birth which I have faith I will have it that way....no going to doubt it!!

No matter what I have faith and will not let nothing bring me down including myself because I know I can do it and will do it, and at the end everything will be Worth it and just Fine!

Another updated coming soon!

By the way how did you feel about giving birth? Did you think you couldn't do it? Please share!

A crafty idea for a daddy to be

Thanks to pinterest I got the idea of a daddy's survival kit for my husband, and got some of his favorite snacks and put a meaning for each one. This pass weekend was our baby shower, and I surprised him with a gift from..here you go:

Babe,
Coke: To help keep you awake until I'm ready to pop.

Seeds: For the seeds of knowledge and wisdom you'll sow

Snickers: To remind you to laugh when you feel like crying.

Starbursts: For that extra boost of energy.

Tissue: To wipe away all the tears  . . . yours, mine and our baby boy’s

Advil: For when all fails...take two!

Crown: To celebrate the new addition to our family, and you deserve it after everything!

You are going to be an amazing dad, and I can't wait to start this new chapter  with you.

I love you and will always love you!

Love,

Your wife

Lauren

Love pinterest and thank pinterest for this idea. Some ladies even did this one and a hosptial kit to take to the hosptial. I did this one, but not sure if his snacks will make it till the day we have to go the hospital....if not we will have to restock.

Influenster Spring Fling VoxBox Reviews

I received these products complimentary for testing proposes from influenster and these are my honest opinions!

Rimmel London scandaleyes retro glam mascara

Love the brush and love how it's easy to come off once my day is over. My lashes are even fuller and prettier when I use this product. Available in stores for 5.99 but it's kind of pricey but worth it.

Kiss everlasting French nails

Why pay full price at the nail salon where you can get this kit anywhere in stores all for 6.49, and on the bright side no worries about polish. The nails from the salon last about two weeks before getting a refill, we'll these last about the same time if you take care of them.

Playtex sports fresh balance

I have try this product before and love how it doesn't move on you or make you from uncomfortable while moving or playing sports. Available in stores and expected to pay 3.99 to 4.99.

Nivea skin firming hydration lotion

Leave skins refresh and doesn't dry out to quickly and result start to after two weeks true to what the product said. Price is kind of high but you will not be upset with the result! 2.45 for 2.5oz or a big bottle for 10.99 size 13.5oz.

Softlips cube

It's a square tube no need to use your figures to apply to lips. I get burn quickly when I'm in the sun and this is prefect size to take with you and plus it protected lips from sun. It's small wish price was lower, but it's worth it and helps keep you protected without having to applied other products to lips.
Available in stores for 3.49.

Thanks,
Lauren

5 months down, 4 more to go

This past Saturday I made 5 months being pregnant, and boy I sure can tell you the time is going by fast that's for sure! My husband and I have four more months to go before we welcome our first child a son into this world, into our family!! Can't wait!!

On another note nausea is getting better, but I do have my days but more better days than anything else. I'm now able to drink water than before, and remember before I got pregnant I was all about water and only water....buy hey at least I got some water in me, I'm even happy to get three water bottles in than nothing at all. Another than that I'm doing great baby is doing great. We have a doctor appointment Friday for the 20 weeks ultrasound check up, as well as it's my grandma 75th birthday celebration that day...pretty special day!

I will have a next update soon!

Recap

As you read on previous posted that my husband and I are expecting our first child, and will be coming into the world at the end of August.

Will here is an update on baby, and I:

Morning sickness are no joke and at one point I thought it went away and nope it didn't! As of today I feel fine and hoping it has gone away and it won't come back...knocking on wood, praying, and keeping my fingers cross. Water was not been my friend at one point, but now I can have a little bit and before all of this water was my friend and that was the only thing I would drink and could drink about 6 water bottles a day or more. I really hoping I could go back to that soon, and I'm also doing lite workout mode since my body was missing it!

Well this weekend I will be 16 weeks which is 4 months, and my husband and I both agree the time is going by fast!!

Oh yeah did I mention that my husband and I are having a little boy...yes we are expecting a son and couldn't be happier!

I will have another update hopefully after my doctor appointment this Friday because we will have an update on baby Coto aka Baby turtle!

One more thing baby turtle is the nickname after daddy because daddy had a shirt and a hat on of ninja turtle, and at one point they call him turtle...so now we have daddy turtle, baby turtle and of course mommy turtle!!

Until next time!!!

Sorry for the late posted:

Hello all! Yes you saw right my husband and I are expecting our first child in August of this year! As of today I am 9 weeks and 3 days and everything is going smooth, and I hope it continues and baby is doing great. I still have a little sickness that comes and goes but other than that I am doing great, I do have a craving for a nice big rita but can't get that until after the baby so water will do! I also do have a cyst but doctors don't seen worry, and they told me not to lose sleep over it or don't worry because everything will be fine...I am relieved!

At first I was worry but I believe that baby and I will be just fine and everything from here to the delivery will be smooth! I believe I am in good hands with my doctors and god, and I believe god is by my side at times and won't give up on me or leave my side or the baby or my husband side!

Beside everything else my husband and I close friends/best friends, and family are beyond excited for us...and they are a great support system because without them I might have gone crazy...lol!! I am clam and cool and know everything will be fine and good because of god, my husband, and close friends/best friends that I have by my side!!

Well until next time and I continue to try and update on not only me but on Baby C!! :)

Thank you!

Lauren
