New comedy UN PADRE NO TAN PADRE in theaters January 27

Set in the stately and majestic colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, this quirky comedy starring Héctor Bonilla, Benny Ibarra de Llano, Jacqueline Bracamontes and Sergio Mayer Mori, follows 85-year old Don Servando Villegas (Héctor Bonilla,) an old fashioned Mexican patriarch who gets kicked out of his retirement home for bad behavior. When his estranged son, Francisco (Benny Ibarra de Llano) is forced to take him into the house full of hippies he shares with his girlfriend and young son, “new age” collides with old age as Don Servando and his son Francisco experience a series of conflicts and situations that puts their home’s stability in jeopardy. Un Padre No Tan Padre is a story about family: the one we’re born into and the one we create along the way.

The film is directed by Raúl Martinez and produced by Gerardo Gatica’s Panorama Global, Alberto Müfflemann and Moises Cosió. The film is executive produced by Distant Horizon’s Anant Singh and Brian Cox. Anant Singh, President of Distant Horizon said, “ ‘Un Padre No Tan Padre” ’ is a hugely entertaining film and we are delighted to be partnering with Pantelion Films to bring it to the US Latin audience, a market in which they are leaders and have a successful track record. We are pleased to be continuing our relationship with Gerardo Gatica and Alberto Müfflemann at Panorama Global, with whom we previously co-produced “ ‘Kite’ ” and “‘Remember.’ ”

The film will open in Mexico on December 24th via Cinépolis Distribución and Pantelion Films/Lionsgate will release on January 27th, 2017 in the U.S.

YOU’RE KILLING ME SUSANA, A ROMANTIC COMEDY

YOU’RE KILLING ME SUSANA, A ROMANTIC COMEDY STARRING GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER
GAEL GARCÍA BERNAL TO BEGIN U.S. THEATRICAL RUN IN LOS ANGELES AND
NEW YORK ON FEBRUARY 17, 2017 AND EXPAND THEREAFTER

You’re Killing Me Susana (Me Estás Matando Susana), a romantic comedy from Mexico starring Golden Globe winning actor Gael García Bernal (Mozart in the Jungle, Neruda), will begin its U.S. theatrical run on February 17, 2017 in Los Angeles and New York and expanding thereafter to 10 additional cities. Hola Mexico Distribution will release the film here, following its 2016 premieres at the Guadalajara International, Chicago International and Mill Valley Film Festivals and its theatrical run in Mexico this past August. Produced and directed by Roberto Sneider (Tear This Heart Out) from a screenplay by Luis Camara and Sneider based on the novel Deserted Cities (Ciudades Desiertas) by José Agustín, the film co-stars Verónica Echegui, Ashley Grace, Jadyn Wong, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Adam Hurtig.

Samuel Douek, president of Hola Mexico Distribution, said, “We believe U.S. audiences who are fans of Gael from such films as The Motorcylce Diaries, Babel and No and more recently his TV series Mozart in the Jungle will love him in You’re Killing Me Susana (Me Estás Matando Susana), where he’s a charming rogue in the tradition of Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones’s Diary and About a Boy. It’s a funny and entertaining date movie for adult filmgoers.”

In You’re Killing Me Susana (Me Estás Matando Susana) Bernal stars as Eligio, a narcissistic Mexico City soap opera actor who one day is shocked to discover that his wife Susana (Echegui) has picked up and left him without uttering a word. After learning that she has enrolled in a writing program at an Iowa university, he decides to go after her and persuade her to return to him. Arriving in what appears to be the middle of nowhere during a winter storm, Eligio feels like a fish out of water and is disappointed to find that Susana has already moved on with her life. Slowly it begins to dawn on him that it’s going to take a lot more than his usual boyish charisma and sweet talk to win her back.

Hello December

Hello December, and starting to feel a lot like it here in Texas with some cooler temperatures...FINALLY! In our house it started to feel a lot like Christmas with our decorations inside up and our Christmas tree as well since Thanksgiving weekend since that's our tradition to put our tree up and decorations. Than we have the outside, well it's not done or we haven't started yet but do have the stuff.

Beside it being December a new month we also welcome our elf on the self Buddy, if you follow us last year you saw what he got into for the season. Well stay tuned to to find out what he will get himself into this year!

So with all this being said it's not only December, but it's also the last month of 2016...please do me a favor and make the most of it, and end the year with a bang and make many more memories!

Lauren

Thanksgiving day/weekend

Hello everyone! Better late than never..Right??? So here is my little recap on how my thanksgiving/weekend was.

My mother and her husband came to spend the night with us for a few days plus she help me with Thanksgiving since I was hosting again. Thanksgiving day was a blast especially with a winning from our football team...Go Cowboys! We had so much food, dessert and everything was oh so good. After lunch/early dinner, we head out to the stores about 9:00pm and we were done by 10:00pm, yes only took us an hour and three stores. We got deals and some gifts out the way, but still got some shopping to do. Than we enjoyed Friday with my mom, had breakfast, went to two more stores, made a little bbq because thanksgiving leftovers were so overrated! Saturday morning my mom and her husband left to go visit a family member. We got the house in order to bring out our Christmas stuff, once done we put our Christmas tree up(other blog posted) and enjoying christmas music, and I must add I been watching Christmas movies since the being on November...hehehe hey I can't help it this is my favorite time of year.

Now that thanksgiving is done, is starting to feel a lot like Christmas and we are getting cooler weather...Yay!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving like my family and I did! This was our second Thanksgiving in our house and to many more!!

Lauren
