This pass weekend June 10-11, we went on our first camping trip with friends of ours and their family, it was the first time for us as husband and wife...I went when I younger with my parents and their friends and my husband has never been. So it being the first time for both us and it going to be and exciting trip and well learning experience. Let our first camping trip begin....
Friday 6/10/2011:
We got up around 6:00 in the morning loaded the car up and head out to meet our friends and there family members, so we can head out together in a convoy. The time we got to our friend house there were still packing up and so we help them load up there stuff, finally we were off to an hour trip to lake livingston state park. While we were on the road we made a breakfast stop and than went about, no more stops until we got to the site....yay we were there, we check in our cars and went to go find our camp site all I can remember is when we drove up to the site my mouth just drop and all I could think is what I did I get myself into, and than on top of that cell phones didn't work out there..."OH LORD," let the interesting weekend begin......
The camping being the cars were unloaded one by one, tents were put up one by one and than the food and our area was getting organized. Once everything is put in there place we had everything set up for us and ready for the weekend, it was time for lunch we had hamburgers and hot dogs, by that time I was already asking my husband if we can go home on Saturday and he just look at me and said lets enjoyed...ok lets enjoyed! From that time we walked around to view the park and the rest we drove, certain parts you could walk and than drive to it.....very pretty and neat seeing all the different tents out and people all of ages and we found the showers and restrooms, good thing not to far from our site. After awhile the time as passed it was dinner time (bbq chicken, rice, and beans), we didnt really do much beside just unloaded and help with everything by the time it was night we were exhausted. Goodnight!!!!!
Saturday 6/11/2011:
Goodmorning its day 2 of our camping trip, we slept very good it got cool and in the middle of the night, and woke up to the birds singing was nice by the time we woke up we help and ate breakfast (eggs, pancakes, troast break, and sausage)...yummy, I know! From there we were planning our day we put our swimsuit on and drove to the main part of the lake where the peir is at and the pool, we did paddle boat for an hour, well the guys did, hahaha we enjoying the view. Once we were done with the paddle boat it was time for lunch, went back to the site to help out with lunch which was chicken alferdo with a salad very good. In the meantime lunch was over we helped with the cleaning, let our food go down and head out to the pool and the lake for a swim, and the heat being the way it is that water sure did feel good...hours pass the time came we help with dinner back at the site it was potatoes, t bone steak....delicious. Fainlly as day two came to an end we kick back watch movies on the screen that our friend bought with him and had a few drinks and laughter! It was a great night and settle in our tents for a goodnight ahead of us!
Sunday 6/12/2011:
Day three of our camping trip from day one I was ready to go home and now its day three and it was time for us to go home and I was not ready, because the time we had was great and relaxing and so much fun. It was around eight in the morning we ate breakfast and than we took down our tents, clean, pickup and loaded up.....Goodbye to our home of three days and two night!!!
For it being our first camping trip it was great and we are so looking forward to doing it again! The way it was when I first got there, and what I was thinking was totally different by the end of our trip...camping wasn't to bad and not having cell phones service wasn't bad at all either. But don't get me wrong I did miss my ac, and not having to walk to far to the restrooms and showers, but I would do it again because it was a great!!!
Home sweet home!!!
Lauren
