First time mommy(1 year down, many more to go)

It's been a year since I became a first time mommy and to many more!

A year down and boy it has been a learning process, and few bumps within the year(which I know many more of those are coming my way)....so ready, not!

Let me share with you that....

When I came home with my son from the hospital my husband took time off from work for a week, than my mom to help out. See I had a csection with them helping me along with my grandma and mother in law for a few days it was great.
Than it happen once my mom week was up and she had to return to work let me tell you I was an emotional wreck, and didn't think I could do and didn't want to do it(darn hormones) and I was so scared. My mom and husband was worrying about me, and they had my grandma and mother in law come a few days out of the week to help. Than the following week it was just me and baby boy, and of course a few check up calls and text from my loved ones.

Now that a year has passed I look at myself and think I did it, and was crazy to think I couldn't do it. But it's first time mommy blues with the changes happen within myself, my body and having being a new mommy. A year later we laugh about it, and as I look at myself and see my 1 year old and can't help but to smile and be proud of myself because I did it! Even if I kept doubting myself and still do a little, but it makes me feel good inside that whatever comes my way I'm ready and can do it and will do it because I am his mommy and he is depending on me.

You know what's crazy is that everyone has a different stories....and that is what I think is so unique about becoming a mommy!! It's crazy how no one other than a girlfriend would understand what happen to you and even get emotional with you. I myself did not like myself nor my body after the baby, and let's not forget the hormones oh the hormones who are not miss whatsoever...lol.

Here we are a 1 year later I am proud of myself, love my body, and love that I'm a mommy. It was and still is a learning process on caring for his every needs, lack of sleep, and let's not forget the eating when you can, and finding time for yourself. But after all this as I look at him, and it was so worth it, and I would do it all over again! As well as I had a great support system to help me along the way and still along with those check up calls and text every now and than.

Here is to a year down and to many more!

Lauren

Please Share your story! Would love to hear from you!!!

It's the first day of fall...What are you most excited about?

Hello fall!!! Am I the only one excited about fall, or are you just excited as I am?
I love fall, love this time of year and since I'm from Texas love the cooler temperatures.
Now that we live in a house I'm looking forward to creating memories, hosting parties, decorating, holidays, and so much more.
So bring out the fall smells, the fall leaves, hoodies, hot chocolate, tamales, sweet bread, my favorite blanket and movies, and of course boots, sweat pants, fall colors, cooler weather, so much good food, and much more.
Now that we are in our new home, I can't wait to start new traditions and bring the ones from the apartment to here such as pumpkin carving, but this time we each get a pumpkin because last year we only did one for my son. It was my husband first time, and he really enjoyed it and told me he wanted to continue it every year.
My fall bucket list
Enjoy every moment as it goes by to fast!

What are you most excited about fall? Please do share!

Goodbye apartment, Hello house

Let me give you a recap:

We lived in an apartment since 2010 a one bedroom at that. Than we had our son and still stay in a one bedroom because my son was due around the same time we were supposed to move, but I didn't see that happen with moving and having a newborn all at the same time. So we made it work put his crib and changing table in our room, stayed another year And few days. Now that my son was getting older and getting more things, we knew and didn't see ourselves in that small apartment and need a bigger place either an apartment or house!

So are search started and we looked and looked and at one point the houses were starting to look the same. Than we came across this house August 1 did a tour and got that feeling that this was our house. So our realtor place our bid on the same day, and August 3rd we were notify that our offer was accepted...yay!! In the meantime we didn't tell everyone only a few people as something could always go wrong, and of course we wanted to wait until we signed the paperwork and got the keys. Paperwork after paperwork, phone calls after phone calls, fax after fax and finally September 8 three days after my son birthday we went to go and closed and got the keys and officially became HOMEOWNERS!

Here we are in our new house, our home, a bigger place for all of us. We moved this pass weekend(Saturday, September 19),  and we are now three days into our new house, and we couldn't be happier. I ask my husband if he feel like we made the right decision and if we can do it...and of course is answer is yes we can do it and will do it because we got this...lol!

It hasn't been that long in our house but it feels right and so excited about all the new memories that we will create in our home. I can't wait to host parties because now we can because we now have the space. Also for my husband to bbq since he loves to bbq, and for our son to go in the backyard to go play, decorate our house inside and outside for the holidays,  so much more.

So keep eyed out as I'm in a new place and I see a lot of diy posted in my future!!

Stay tuned!

Hello Football Season plus 2 recipes

Hello Football!!

It's game day, football season and my household couldn't be more excited. We love this time of the year because we love to get together with our friends and family for some fun, talking mess(as we are cowboys fans, and they are texans fans), cheering, high fives, laughter, good food and dessert, and of course lots of memories being made, oh yeah and kids running around having fun.

Today is the first game of the season and nothing big plan, just staying home I'm making burgers for dinner and we have chips and dips for us as well. In the meantime we wait until our team plays which is tonight against the gaints.

Two of my favorite dips I love during football season especially is spinach dip and ranch dip.

Spinach dip recipe
1 pack of Korr Vegetable Mix
Frozen/thew out spinach or fresh
One cup of mayo
One 16 Oz sour cream
A can of water chestnuts chopped

Hehehe I can't take all the credit the recipe is in back on the Korr Vegetable Mix just in case.

And of course get a pack of hidden Valley Ranch dip and a sour cream, and if you have yourself your ranch dip once you mix it in a bowl together. I serve my ranch dip with ruffles. Than the spinach dip I put it in a Hawaiian bread the bowl shape one, just make a bowl in it and use the pieces to eat with the dip or crackers of your choice.

Now I share two recipes that I love, and how we love football season.

How about you share your recipes with me? Do you love football, if so what is your favorite team?

Lauren

P.S. Keep an look out for pictures during football season in a later posted! Stay tuned....
